Thus far we are making strides in regards to analyzing diction in literature. We have completed a few strategies, answered questions, and broken down poems together and separately. We have also discussed how to compose an introductory paragraph that shows your complete understanding of the text beyond simply summarizing.
Next we will work on developing the body of the essay. In the meantime keep in mind the information below:
1. View the videos on the blog. You should write down three notes from the videos on diction multiple choice questions and five on the diction analysis video.
2. We will have Socratic on HTRLLAP and SOS on October 15th or 16th depending on when we have class.
3. In your notebooks you should have added the following:
a. Introductory Paragraph 1
b. Introductory Paragraph rewrite
c. Notes on diction
e. Textbook Poetry Assignment
f. Close Reading Assignment for Chapters 4-8 of SOS
At our next notebook check I am expecting clean, neat, and organized notebooks. If they are not, I will not accept them!!!! Also, I am still grading notebooks so don't panic. Please just be patient. It won't hurt you. It may be a blessing to some.
I stay for tutorial Tues, Wed, and Thurs (unless I have a faculty meeting). Also videos on the blog can assist when I am not available.
